I am currently based in Devon, having lived and worked in Africa, Canada and mainland Europe. I have exhibited in Great Britain, France and Canada and also work to commission. I have work in the permanent collection of the National Museum of Scotland and in private collections around the world.
Most of my work is concerned with the natural environment, and more recently, human interaction with it. At its simplest, I love paint, colour, and the play of light and shade.
My 3D and glass work looks at memory and how it changes over time. A visit to Australia and inspiration from aboriginal dot-paintings led to further work in paint examining memory. We build up our own life stories from thousands of memories, which may differ from other people’s view of things. So what is real? What have we simply made up?
The ‘Ganges to the Ganges via Ganges’ series was sparked from a lack of knowledge (and therefore no memories) about my family. What’s in a name? About 3 years research, travel, meeting new friends and long lost family, adventure, seeing new worlds, learning new techniques.
Most of my work is also available to rent for offices or private homes at very competitive rates. Email me for further details.
